Hi All

I have a 2002 Auto-Trail Cheyenne 630. Fiat Ducato 2.8 LWB.
The bottom main Habitation Door Hinge has snapped. I read on here an article regards how to fit a replacement. The problem I have folks is getting a darn hinge !
I contacted O’Leary Motorhome Spares in Hull. He had them in February, but apparently no longer ? I did query with him in February, but was sent to work away by my employer and got the bad news from O’Leary’s yesterday.
I’ve emailed Marcle Leisure to see if they have any.

Has anyone got any ideas please ? I’m looking on eBay.

Thanks,

Mark.

One hinge is the Inner Fly Screen Door and the other for the door attachment. It’s Def not an E Hinge Steve, but well done the advice. Thank You. Apologies Giz, I only joined today and a little bewildered with posting a photo. Thank You for the suggestion of a photo.

Oh ..... in February when I emailed O’Leary Motorhome Spares in Hull he said he had the 3 type hinge, but I would need to lose the Fly Screen Door !!!! Not sure what that was about ?

If you can get it off, it may weld ok as a stop gap!

☝Great little site. Have their own little Micro Brewery next to the Pub. Toilet visit revealed the unique urinals.

The Ellbee five leaf hinges have been obsolete for some years and it appears (from a fairly recent thread) that the three leaf hinges are also obsolete now. I think Ellbee were bought out and no longer produce those types of hinges.
O'Leary's comment about losing the flyscreen is correct (more or less). Of the five leaves, two attach to the flyscreen and three to the main door. As it is one of the two flyscreen leaves which has gone then removing the flyscreen would "fix" the problem of it not being properly attached (I don't think you would have to actually replace the hinge if you go that route because the other parts work OK on the main door).
The other alternatives are to try to source a hinge from a caravan breaker or to have a replacement leaf made by a metal fabricator.

As You mentioned, the first part is the Fly Screen Connection. The second lower part with the Screw Holds is the actual door hinge part and that’s what has snapped and I’m seeking.
Was wondering if I could possibly match that part only via another type Hinge ?

Hi All,

I’m not that concerned about the Loss of the Inner Fly Screen Door. It’s really only the actual main Habitation Door join with the two screw holes that I seek.

Thank You all for the helpful advice and site links. Really appreciate the effort.

SteveJ, Enword & GJH .....

Sorry I was getting mixed up. You are quite right that the broken part attaches to the door (long time since I worked on mine).
I think (not 100% sure) that the middle part of the Ellbee three leaf hinge is the same as the broken part on yours.
Trouble is they are difficult to source and expensive if a mistake is made.
I found Broken Link Removed but not sure if it is the same as the Ellbee three leaf. Presumably the seller would be able to advise. Not cheap.

Thank You so much GJH. Will ask them the Ellbe Q.
Looking at my Door Hinge Photos, (please excuse my Stupidity, but I want to get this right) the Habitation Door is on the near side and when opens its outer edge points to the passenger Motorhome Door, so they right side Hinges ?

I'm afraid I can never remember how to tell which, but the supplier should know.

Oh heck :( Hinge in the above Photo and only need the middle section .....

Now been told by email that the Hinge, ( As kindly suggested by GJH as a possible replacement for the one I can’t get ! ) is not in stock.

You may well have done this already.....
Go to Google, type in

motorhome habitation door hinges

And then select "images" as shown below

20190423_155006.jpg

Scroll through the images to see if you can find a match. If you do, click on the image and it will show you the web site that the image is embedded in.

If there isn't a match, consider any that have similar elements to the broken part on yours. The website may give a schematic with dimensions and you might be able to scavenge something.

Are these the ones O'Leary's don't have in stock?...

Hi Barry (y)

Yes, the above link and the Hinges it mentions are the ones I need. I asked O’Leary’s in February if he had them and he said he did, (All done via email ) but that I may need to lose my Fly Screen Door as he had the 3 Hinge Type.

I was then sent to work up north and didn’t get back to O’Leary until beginning of April. He then told me that he now has nothing available that I need.

Thanks Barry (y)

Mark.

That's the right hinge (assuming it is the correct way round) but it looks like the seller realises how scarce they are because 50 quid is a heck of a starting price. Getting on for twice the retail price when they were readily available.

Thank You namweldog & GJH
.... I would pay that price seeing I’m so desperate :p
However, I don’t know if it’s the right or left hand hinge? I need left hand. It’s like its an awkward photo of the hinge on purpose  and the seller gotta cruel streak ..., cos as you say GJH, they know how scarce the darn thing is !!!! :D2

Yes Duck Truck .... I’m absolutely bowled over by how people have come forwards with such good information, advice and helpfulness. The Site was recommended to me because it has a superb reputation for that trait. It’s great to see people getting stuck into a problem and everyone’s tenacity in not being beat :D

It’s a Bid item. No info on seller and no contact. I think that’s a right hand Hinge ? All they say is to look carefully at the photo to make sure it’s the correct Hinge ! For £50 I really do wanna make sure it’s the right Hinge !!!! Lol.

Seeing this hinge so cheap, I bought it as a possible? May get lucky.
