HYMER B SL 674
Exp
SINCE 2005
The battery clock that snuggly fits into the control panel above the habitation door of our 2019 B674 SL has stopped working (yes changed the battery!). As it is held in position simply by the tight fit, diameter of the rear mechanism, I need an exact replacement. Cannot wait 6 months for Hymer to respond any thoughts? Actually will seem like longer as the clock doesn’t work! Thank you and apologies it’s not such a hardship as other issues for some on here.

what is the O/S diameter of the existing clock or the diameter of the hole ?

I take it is the same as ours a round one with a black dial.
I suspect the mechanism is a standard Chinese one so if you can find something similar you maybe able to change the mechanism.

Mine broke and I found a replacement from Brownhills from their Hymer stock

I didn’t fit 🙁 wrong size, returned and got full credit

Ordered one from TW , during my headlamp issue, they tried to give me exactly same wrong one that Brownhills had

I pointed out the size difference, they still insisted on trying to fit it, TW queried with Hymer Who denied it was wrong size 🤣

It also has different graphics and isn’t even Hymer branded

We now have a clock that’s only right twice a day but at least fits 👍

Yet another spare part that Hymer can’t supply despite still being fitted up till a few years back 🙁

I thought that, but the front is glued on, remove the mechanism the hands fall off 🤔 and are stuck inside

Edit I broke the plastic front trying to remove it, gave up looking for a new movement then

David,

We replace our Hydrometer, we got ours from the ever helpful Chris at Reliance. Just supplied him the van serial number.

I think you will find those clocks are a fairly standard size.
An ebay search or onto a few specialised clock sites should get you a replacement.

(I replaced the innards on my father in laws electric clock a few years back, it took a bit of searching for the parts, but found it in the end. Perhaps see if you can find the manufacturer of the original clock)

checkout 12v 52mm clock on ebay, there's loads on there

That was easy - all sorted now - not. Travelworld have just quoted £154 including delivery - wow. Now I am just wondering why I would be tempted to buy a replacement for something that broke just outside the warranty period? Difficult question to answer! I think they are about £10 tops without the Hymer branding.

Now that’s odd. Pulled out the tight fitting clock from the fascia panel to double check the measurements- dropped it. Bits flew all over the place. Put it back together Replaced the battery and….it works perfectly and it’s not even Halloween!

Not a 'method' of repair I'd suggest but it obviously worked! :giggle:
