Habcheck - Your Views....

Hi Guys & Girls & those inbetween!
Firstly, so excited, soon to move house and our passion wagon for the first time will be parked on the drive rather than a local farm.

The reason for writing is has anyone had any experience using 'Habcheck' for their Habitational check? I used them for the first time last week. £199.00 and here on £179.00. Very efficient, very friendly, very old school in dealing with them.

What exactly did they do for your money ? As from memory our Chausson main dealer was a similar price.

Full works as per West Country Motorhome offer. We do it to comply with 10 year water ingress Swift warranty. If it wasn't for that I'd do it every two years. Engineer worked solidly for 2 hours 10 mins.

Electrics, gas, water ingress and so on.

Crickey. We have our home boiler inspected annually so should your motorhome boiler be inspected and gas pressures etc?

I Hoover around gas jets on fridge to keep webs and spiders out,,that's about all they do on a house central heating boiler,,I have a sensor to check regularly for gas leaks,,heating is diesel..They never take your fridge out or your boiler when doing a hab check which they would have to if servicing either of them.They probably have a look at the gas pilot light and the flame when it's lit.I can do that.

I probably agree but at least I keep my water ingress warranty operative for 10 years.

We have to do that, but needs to go to a Chausson dealer for the checks.

I've had 3 new Hymers over the last 10 years never had a hab check I do my own. Just have the damp check for the warranty even that seems a waste of time with both inner & outer walls being aluminium. Manufacturer rip off me thinks.

Not all dealers do a gas check on the habitation check. Brownhills didn't

im on your plane Lenny HB , i check everything over, get a damp check done and son to do a few checks on the gas, visual, leakage and burner flame colour.

agree its a Habitation Check sheet . they adjust / service nothing.
