So the new to us moho seems to have water coming in at the hab door. It’s got a funny step like I assume most have, where the step is built from a plastic form with a raised wooden bit that sits about an inch from the base, carpet clips into the step.
Last few days when its rained I’ve been out and noticed water sat in the lower bit of the step. I don’t think this should happen but puzzled as to why the step is built that way, it seems it’s designed to keep the carpet raised of the base. I’ve been out in the dark and shined a torch from outside in and at the bottom of door the light comes through.
I’m thinking possible seal needs replacing which shouldn’t be a problem as it’s under warranty still. What do you guys think? It’s an auto trail and no smell of damp. Are drive has a steep slope to it and wonder if that has anything to do with it? Sorry pics arnt great

James, it could be a dodgy seal, warped door or a hinge which has been knocked out of alignment.

Dry down the entire area including the floor and the seal and remove the carpet.....then add a bit of talc to the whole seal before closing the door and turning the hose on the whole outer door for a few seconds.

Once you've identified the ingress point then you can work out the problem.

Some hinges become slightly loose and may just need adjusting.

All the best,

Andrew

We get a little water inside our passenger cab door step and it’s plastic like that. I think it’s condensation. The cold weather seems to make it worse.

Ours has a deeper channel across the doorway which has a drain hole each end, about 10mm diameter.
Channel is only about 25 mm wide and deep.
When cold we get some condensation on the door frame that ends up in the channel.

Just a thought, do you have a drip diverter thing above your door so that when the rain comes it diverts either side of your door ?

Is this what you mean =

I had the same problem many years ago and bought some of above, worked a treat..(y)

I splayed it out and down the side a bit as first time I followed the edge of the door but the water still ran in the side ...

That one is grey, but they do other colours..

You shouldn't have a gap at all as it should 'seal' tight ... it may be that the door isn't fitted properly, eg too high, in the frame.

We left the motorhome showroom a msg over second lock down advising of our issues with the door, also that the remis blind on passenger door had come loose.

The blind was replaced when we purchased the motorhome as where it was meant to clip into when driving was broken. They replaced it prior to us collecting but the screws didn’t appear to be long enough to keep it in place.

They re fixed the blind for us and they also had to put a new door seal on which after today’s hosing whilst cleaning appears to have resolved the problem.

Credit where it’s due, we are really happy with the motorhome showrooms service and would recommend 100%
