Hi. Does anyone know if it is possible to calculate, even roughly, a vehicles gvw from the front and rear axle weights.

I know (hope) it is less than the pair added up.

Our van is almost completed now, and while in a loaded state I tried to weigh it today at the local dot spot but it was a driveover one which gave 2 numbers, then a gvw which was just the 2 axle weights added up.

It is only the permitted axle weights that add up to more than the permitted GVW. To allow for flexibility of loading.

The actual axle weights will indeed add up to the total weight. Where else would the load be distributed except onto the axles? And it cannot be that there is some gvw that is not on the axles.
