My Grey water drain gets blocked - presumably by bits of food n stuff after sloppy plate scraping and washing up on board.
If you have faced this and need a quick fix then here is my low tech soltion....
Get an old mountain bike inner tube, these make a nice tight fit over the grey water drain pipe. Then blow hard down the clean end and it dislodges the nasty bit of gunk and your draining can continue. if you are too squeamish to risk blowing down the tube (risking a mouthful of 3 day old washing up and toothpaste water) you can always knot it the open end tightly and use the bike valve and a pump to the same effect.
The inner tube if kept on board is also an extremely useful one meter drain pipe if you are just short of the drain and cant be arsed getting your 10 meter pipe out of the cupboard.
would also suggest that old inner tubes are great for adding strength to the shonkey fixings that come with the average bike rack. They are effectively long and very strong rubber bands and very strong when knotted. Never throw away your old bike inner tubes!
