Looks a tad old for fire and ambulance services. Maybe they are looking out for the two old codgers that live in your house.

Such vehicles are used in Lancashire by Red Cross to assist at major incidents. No doubt a use has been found for them during the current situation

Our local police used to have one.
Used as a mobile office...

The Red Cross have at least one motorhome in West Yorkshire. We (the Fire Service) called them when the occupiers of houses destroyed in fires had nowhere else to go. They do a great job looking after people who have lost everything.

Our son told us yesterday that he had cycled past an Army barracks near to where he lives and had seen a number of motorhomes being used by, he assumes, troops. We speculated that they were awaiting deployment.

Exactly the same as in our area. Driven by the ex-firefighters or ex-ambulance staff and crewed by volunteers they can offer help to people who have suffered losses because of fire/flood etc.

Step son works away from home, firm has told him it is likely a motorhome will be provided for his accommodation for his next, essential, spell away from home.

No its an emergency response vehicle, the Fire, Police and Ambulance service all used to keep specially adapted vehicles for emergency response. It was put forward on a paper in the 1990's that these vehicles over 20 years did less than 4000 miles in their life time yet cost upwards of £40,000 to convert.. and about the same to keep in service over their lifetime, just in case! It was suggested that a low mileage motorhome or two, be purchased per regional area as a multi agency approach after all why have separate Fire, Police and Ambulance controls? The initial outlay would be minimal as any motorhome company would love their logo as a sponsor and after 5 - 10 years with most of its life spent cosseted there would be an asset to sell on. I left before the plans were activate but would imagine that this is an example
