Many of you know the good facilities provided by Canterbury City at the New Dover Road P+R.
I have recently been in contact with the Parking Manager, who has always been pushing our corner.
I just want to post a comment he has made and approved for publication, which is
"The good news as far as motorhome owners are concerned is that there is a lot more interest being taken by local authorities to provide facilities as they better understand the requirements.
The British Parking Association is working hard with those who already provide suitable spaces to coordinate advice for those who wish to."
I can add that he has been approached for advice on how best to do it. In the past I have jokingly suggested to him that we could clone him and send his clones to every Council in the country.
Recently I have noted just as many positive reports of Councils making provision for MHs as others putting restrictions on.
Hopefully the tide is turning. CAMpRA seem to be making an inroad.
