Would like to glue clips for awning winder on garage wall . Not keen to stew into the walk . Have tried No More Nails , Araldite , Gorilla extra strong glue and Gorilla strong strips but so far all failed . As soon as you try to release the winder the clip comes off the wall ! Before I waste any more money has anyone found something that works please ?

Try the 'Grip Holders'- intended for Brooms etc., you can buy them in Auchan; and elsewhere, about 3 euros each, two small screws required. I use two each for Awning Winder avec Spare Wheel Winder, Hose Brush and 'Dirty Job/Snow' Shovel all safely secured and no rattles, not that we would hear them. More importantly, they are still in place when we arrive.

I also had reservations about drilling holes behind the Gas Locker wall but no problems.

If it a Thule/Ominstore buy some decent clips first the supplied ones break easily.

Thank you all . Might have to give in and stew into the walk . Will look at the glue too but not sure if we can get it here .

Try 3m vhb tape. different types for different materials. Can get it in squares or tape. Has worked well for me in a variety of uses

Similar sort of thing that's invisible, not just clear https://armstrongsupplies.co.uk/products/hb42-sealant-adhesive?variant=31298621702280

Fix the clips to a strip of aluminium say 30mm wide using CSK screws. Use car body trim tape to stick to the wall.

sticks like shit - wonderful stuff

What is your wall construction and finish?

In my garage I’ve got some wood finished walls and some that are the same finish as I’ve got inside the van. The ones that are finished the same as the interior are basically paper covered. Where my parking sensor control box was mounted on that, with sticky pads, and had been knocked off (before my purchase) it has just ripped the paper off. I wish they had just screwed it on as that would have been easier to make good.

So I’d recommend just using screws if your finish is the same.

Why not screw each of your clips to a piece of say 1" wide by 3" long by 1/2" thick ply and then glue the ply strips to the wall as this will give it more surface area for a stronger bond

I just used a couple of small brass J hooks into wood.
Hasnt fallen off yet which would surprise many who know my DIY skills
