Im a newbie
Hello, I’m having a problem with the 230v electrics when on hook up. The 13amp sockets are still working and the truma 6e heating is still working on electric heating. However, the electrobloc charger isn’t working and the fridge is also not working. I have checked the mini breakers and there appear to be two cables coming from the breaker that keeps tripping. I have unplugged electrobloc via the kettle lead plug and the breaker continues to trip so I assume it’s the fridge causing the issue. The battery charger charges the leisure battery when the engine is on and the solar panel is also still charging the leisure battery just not when on hook up. Any ideas? Also the breakers appear to be labelled wrong! Is there anyway to unplug the fridge or are they hard wired? Thanks

If you have a three way fridge with two vents you may find the fridge connection behind the bottom vent.

Thanks I I have found the fridge plug behind the lower vent grill I assume that the 230v plug is the large black one on the left in the attached photo. Also I was thinking that the reason for the tripping may be water? Has anyone else ever had this problem?

Looks like the one.👍 I'd try that first and see what happens.

If the fridge trips the electric 9 times out of 10 it is a heating element failed short circuit

Don't know if it will help but I still had this from when we had a Familyscout.

So I have managed to fix the issue or actually it’s fixed itself really. After getting home I unplugged the fridge and dried out the 230v connections under the lower external fridge vent and this resolved the tripping MCB. So I assume that driving rain got into the 230v fridge connection and tripped the MCB and it wouldn’t reset as it had water in it. Does anyone use fridge vent covers other that for winter storage? E.g if it’s really stormy would you consider using them to keep the weather out? Thanks for all your help!

The fridge mains plug / socket appears to be installed upside down so water will run into it. For a permanent cure I'd move the connection to a position above the bottom fridge vent.

Or use good old gaffer tape to make it watertight.

Or better - self-amalgamating tape  . I'd move it though.
Looking at the wiring I don't know if there's enough slack in the existing wiring to move it, but if there is I'd do both just to be safe and keep moisture out.

Agree. I've had them in the past plugged into a socket behind an adjacent unit (ideal until you need the fridge out) and plugged into a socket on the LHS just above the lower vent (caused no problems). I think the OPs problem was more to do with the orientation of the plug/socket than the position it was in. Over the years Electrolux / Dometic have done little to improve the connections interface to make electrically sound connections or to help servicing. There's no reason, for example, why the fridge couldn't have a 'kettle' socket facing downwards.
