I have run out of data on my unlocked mifi in Portugal, can I just buy a Pay as you go Portuguese simm, put it in and it will work?

Just go to a phone shop, we use Meo, there’s also Vodaphone and NOS. We get 60 gb for €30 per month. Bought fortnightly, which we find a bit inconvenient at times, but live with it.

PAYG NOS data SIM €15 + vat unlimited data for 15 days I think they do a 20 day one for €20 as well.

Thanks guys.
We left on the Portsmouth ferry to Santander last Friday with daughter and her hubby and they have been hammering Netflix while I meandered down here to Camping Lisbon. Used all my 19gig roaming allowance.:(

Like phone shops everywhere, they can take an eternity to get served - we find it quicker to use an independent than a network shop. Used NOS last year.

I think I saw you coming off the boat I was waiting to board.

About 16.30 ish Saturday afternoon, second off the boat, feeling pleased with myself then got lost in Santander.:)
It was like a millpond coming over, what was it like going back?

Just the same didn’t know we was moving all the way to Portsmouth.

We've found internet access in Portugal to be the best. We've bought a NOS data only sim for €15 for unlimited data over 15 days. It actually worked for more than 15 days but in any event, topping it up was very simple. Any post office will top up for another 15 days for €15. You don't have to go to a NOS shop.
We also found thar the download speeds easily exceeded our cable Virgin media back home ( for which we pay a fortune!)

But remember you won’t get access to all things, such as BBC with a foreign sim.

You can with a vpn.

Our Firestick works but not for BBC and ITV, didn't alter anything it just worked, that's with a UK 3 simm and a Portugese NOS simm. But using my lappy and a vpn I can get both BBC and ITV on the NOS simm, and on the 3 simm I can get both without a vpn, which I can put on the telly via a HDMI plug under the table, although we haven't watched hardly any telly. Hope that makes some sort of sense. :)

My uk registered fire stick does not work, tried it in Motorhome and apartment, with a three SIM card and also a vodaphone pt SIM card neither work, what am I doing wrong. ;)

Not sure whether you're doing anything wrong. I have a Virgin sim for my phone with unlimited data for £24 per month. I use the hotspot on my phone for the Firestick's internet connection and I can get BBC iplayer, ITV Hub, Four Hub as well as Prime and Netflix.

Fire stick works on three and Vodafone pt, on amazon prime tv no bbc or itv. Lap top with three uk sim, no bbc or itv without vpn, bt sport and now tv work on either SIM card with no vpn.

I live in Portugal 6 months. I use https://www.portugalinternet.com/.
NOS unlimited network. works great!

We live there too and would be interested in this, but we read only one device can be connected at a time. We have a Mifi and both connect our tablets to this at the same time, do you know if we could do that?

Why not just get a NOS PAYG sim card, unlimited €15 for 15 days and then renew online, I did this for three winters before taking out a 60Gb deal with Vodafone UK last summer.

For short stays it works out cheaper and longer term the cost is the same, the only possible drawback is sourcing a NOS sim but many different outlets sell them as well as NOS outlets.

I use the sim in TP M7350 MiFi modem with wireless connection to Linksys dd-wrt router which connects Desktop PC, two sat boxes and a smart TV on LAN, then laptop, smart phone and Sat Nav + guest phone on WiFi.
So yes more than one device. 1year=7,89€ per week.
