We are entering Germany near Mullhouse and traveling around for a week before heading over to Auschwitz. Anyone got any suggestions for places to visit? We will be staying mainly on stellplatz as most of the sites are closed, any suggestions gratefully received as we have never done Germany.

If you like cars try the City Motor Museum in Mulhouse. Just brilliant!

Although in France the Vosges area is lovely

We had a nice time in the Black Forest: stellplatz with nice views at Altglasshutten (train line closed until spring), free parking at the southern end of Seebrug, nice stellplatz (limited time) in Schluchsee. Free public transport if you pay for overnight will get you to Basel, Karlsruhe etc by train or bus.

Covered parking in Triberg, home of the cuckoo-clock industry with interesting shops and Germany's highest waterfall.

We recently had three weeks in the Black Forest area staying at Staufen and using free public transport to explore. Rhein Falls, Titisee, Heidelberg well worth a visit.

North of Mulhouse at Speyer and Sinsheim German tecnic Museums https://speyer.technik-museum.de/en/
both have stellplatze near and should both be open , Nuremberg,
Leipzig (brilliant for shopping ) https://stellplatz.info/reisemobilstellplatz/leipzig Wroclaw https://www.eurocampings.co.uk/pola...aw/campsite-stadion-olimpijski-nr-117-106464/ the campsite is Polish standard , but OK , quite reasonable price . The tram stop is just outside and easy to center . Just down road is a place that puts on music and fountain/lights show about once or so a week its free and worth a look . If you are over 3.5tonne you will need Via toll for Poland Broken Link Removed
Not far from Krakow (about 50miles) from Auschwitz is wieliczka salt mine well worth a visit
