Hi,

Back again...

Question - are these handy gas BBQ point always external?

I was under the impression that my new to me van had a gas point but for the life of me I can't find it!

I have had a new Gaslow system fitted. Can a BBQ be run directly from these with a adaptor and line?

Are the external point easy to install? Is it a DIY job?

Ta in advance

Ross

Normally yes, but can sometimes be found inside a gas locker
Should be fed from the gas pipes in the motor home
East to install? for me yes, I dont know what tools, hole cutters, or skill level you have

I am going to install my own external bbq point later this week. i am more than competent (city and guilds albeit 40 years ago lol) but just wondered what tips anyone could offer to avoid the timber studwork of the walls? do you use a stud locator or just pot luck taking into account vertical studs are likely to run alongside windows or locker openings ??

Look for pictures of the same MH to see where most are putting them.

Mine is just the rear top of the passenger wheel arch, I guess the rear exterior of our MHs are almost identical but your locker door is slightly different.

I would expect 'top to bottom' timbers to run up the sides of window openings to give strength to the opening and support for the timber cross rails above and below windows.
I cant see them putting any timber in small gaps between windows and doors/corners etc where a 'top to bottom' will already be in place.

Just my (logical) thoughts and opinions of course

thanks. there is a cupboard under the fridge that contains the pipework and a 2 valve manifold for the fridge and heater. I intend changing that to a 3 valve manifold and the run the pipework inside the locker, its only a pipe run of about 600 mm - or 2 ft in old money and ive got all the tools, bending springs, hole cutters etc to do the job professionally ! I fitted a gasit system to our last van and at some stage will put an underslung gas tank on this one !

Most likjely sandwich construction
2 way manifold may have end plug you can remove and use as a 3rd outlet

thanks, but its just as easy to put in a 3 way manifold - it does have an end plug but it wont look as neat/professional as a 3 way fully valved manifold
