No, not that...

Having tracked down the very elusive 6kg propane cylinder I fitted it on our new to us MH, and there doesn't seem to be any supply to the 3 gas appliances. I saw all three working on Monday when they were demonstrated to me. The chap showing me did use a portable bottle with a gauge (may have had a regulator too?), although it fed through the van's regulator. All isolation valves are open, igniters work fine. There is no sound of gas, or smell, from the hob burners. what am I missing?

there are normally isolation taps somewhere in the van...

look like this

There’s multiple things that could be wrong. First thing on the gas pipes are there any “Green Buttons”. Press them. There can be several safety systems. They may need to be pushed with a key or screw driver. (They are the “crash detection “ systems designed to cut off the gas if you are in a crash. The downside of s they also operate when you run out of gas or shut off the bottle.

at the risk of being cheeky.... there is gas in the cylinder i guess; more likely that there is a button on or near the regulator to push when gas is turned on at the bottle

Have a look under the sink there should be a manifold with red taps on it to turn on /off individual appliances😊

Might be a main isolator next to the regulator in the gas locker.

ALSO can take up to best part of 30 seconds for gas to reach the burners.

How long did you try?

If you sure gas in the bottle and all valves open, give the regulator (usually next to the bottles) a smart tap whilst gas cylinder valve open.

If still no gas you need a competent (suitably qualified and experienced) person to investigate the issue.

good luck

Green button on the regulator, but it doesn't move and I think it's actually a cover for some kind of fitting. Chap didn't press it the other day....Tried a partial and a new refill cylinder...Tried all 3 burners left open for over a minute...nothing..

My Pilote has a electronic crash detection so you have to switch it on the control panel

A photo of the bottle, locker, pipe and regulator may help. And where are you? If you are on a site there maybe other Funsters near. They are a friendly lot but need a lot of alcohol to keep them helpful!

Gloucester, tomorrow may see the smart tap method....The regulator is factory 2004, I suspect Truma, the other bits are..

The thing with the cap on is for gas test. But most Truma valves have crash button on valve and possibly on pipe. So you need gas turned on (you can always give it a quick blast before connecting hose to make sure it got gas in it. Carefully) the press button slowly, on hose, then press button on valve slowly

I have no buttons to press. Brand new plain hose from cylinder to regulator......I will examine the regulator more closely to see if anything has dropped off!

What tools do you have with you?

I've got gas but it's probably from the Chinese I had for tea.:rofl::rofl::RollEyes:
