Will be picking up a new Elddis Majestic 185 and need to get some gas bottles for it. Was going to look on ebay first, rather than pay the huge deposits from Calor etc.

Is 7Kg the biggest, or can you get 11kgs in there please? Hoping someone has this or a similar model and will know, so I don't have to keep phoning the dealer like an idiot!

Thank you :giggle:

Hi Richie, I don't have one but if you edit your title you can put your MH make in that so it might entice owners to reply.

Hi Mel.
It does say in my title what I have... at least, I can see it there.
Maybe I've done something wrong!

I mean the thread title - where it says 'Gas bottle size' - as that's the bit that is seen in the forum list.

It’s a good habit to make subject headers sort but contain key data.
but there are so many subjects posted that don’t help with the thread I thought this thread title was on topic !

Yes and no .. gas bottle size is a 'general' sort of query whereas what is really wanted is info for a specific motorhome so whilst the owners of one wouldn't necessarily look at a 'general' request if it said their make of motorhome too they are more likely to have a nosy. :giggle:

Already tried that. They don't have any spare and want you to enter into a contract at great expense!! We can get one from ebay etc, just wanted to check the size (y)

Check on your local freecycle sites, or similar, they sometimes have a few on.

Did they offer you something other than the Caller Cylinder Refill Agreement?
What was your dealer offering, if you don’t mind me asking?

For our MH purchase we bought their starter pack as priced up it was good value. That included a 6kg calor gas bottle with Calor Cylinder Refill Agreement so not aware of that agreement adding cost.

We got a 2nd bottle from facebay and exchanging that for a full bottle is the same price as our original one.
About £24 from one of several local Calor stockists

Don't forget that with Calor, it doesn't have to be like for like sizes when exchanging bottles.

Looks like you’ve inadvertently screenshot some bottles from the next group: medium

Only the first five bottles are in the small group and interchangeable.

So I remembered the costings.
its £40 to enroll in Calor’s exchange agreement before you spend ~£24 for the gas.
So def. worth getting your own starter 6Kg gas bottle.

Measure the opening to the gas locker that will give you a clue.
The 13kg calorgas bottles are around 300mm dia and just shy of 600mm tall.
If you can’t get one of those in the locker then it’s the next size down 6Kg.
