Hi this may be a dumb question however her goes. When putting in coordinates into my Sat Nav you have to put in Eg N 50°55 9684' E 001 etc etc. However frequently in various Site books Eg Aires of France they only give you 3 digits at the end Eg N 50°55 968. My question is how do you know what 4th number to put in. You cannot miss it out and if you put a random number in the Sat Nav will not take you to the correct location Any advice would be welcome

Google maps satellite image.. right click the location, click "What's here" jot down the pop up grid ref.
Put grid ref in sat nav

or on iPhone, drop a pin (touch screen over the correct location) and then swipe up gently the "dropped pin" bar at the bottom.. Grid ref displayed :)

Just enter a zero 0.
The difference in distance is perhaps a metre or two.
Try it on a random site and see where the sat nav would want to take you.

Thanks do this in the main, however one time ended up on the wrong side of a river on a tow path. Not good in a motorhome?

Put a 5 in as the last digit. In probability it's in the middle ??

When I noticed this problem a while ago I have been entering a zero as the last figure with my Garmin and have always arrived at the destination. The tricky bit is to change the format of the grid reference!

Having the same issue can change the format but not to 6 digit one
