Garmin 1095 camper (1 Viewer)

A bit of a long shot this but are there any garmin sat nav experts out there? I have bought a 1095 camper sat nav and to be honest it’s the most expensive and without doubt the worst gps I have ever owned. Let me explain what is wrong with it ,I can get the destination set and the unit verbally tells me to drive to highlighted route then no more verbal communications what so ever for the whole journey. Garmin help line is next to useless and of no help whatsoever. Does any have any ideas or know of a shop that can look at it ?

Sounds like a fault in the unit to me rather than a setting.
Is it still under warranty ? If so return for a refund.
By coincidence, my Google maps does exactly the same thing when following directions, I plan to delete the app and reinstall at some point

Edit ; just thinking about this, could you do a system update, it might help ?

Well there may be some truth in that ,although garmin where useless and just quoted things of a list one of the many things they said it might have a corrupt file and to delete all files and reinstall all maps but unfortunately you have to have a computer and a very strong internet for that and I have neither

It is almost certain that a shop will not be able do anything which you can not do.
No serviceable parts inside.

I agree that a factory reset may well be the best thing to try.
Before that, try turning the volume up.
Is it set to output radio signal, rather than use the built in speaker.?

Failing those, we thave a Garmin Camper (in the camper: where else?)
I can have a look at for you, later on.

Yes I know, I have that problem. My Garmin needs a Windows PC to update but I only have a Chromebook

It is almost certain that a shop will not be able do anything which you can not do.
No serviceable parts inside.

Not much help I know but if your car has a Bluetooth connection for the phone this may be an issue.

I have a VW with satnav. With the phone connected sometimes satnav audio is ok sometimes not.
Try it , if relevant, with no Bluetooth phone connected.

Does it have an "Audio Mixer" setting (allows you to adjust volume for various functionality, eg phone, directions, etc. Is this set appropriately?

Yes it does and every thing is on and turned up

I just switched off Bluetooth and wifi just before we set off from port Solent to the docks and would you believe it gave verbal directions all the way . Blooming brilliant ,thanks so much and thanks to everyone who replied . Let’s hope it still works in Spain
