Garden Bird Watch.

That is lovely.
I looked out of our front window this morning and the snow meant I could see how busy it had been around our feeder, so many foot prints.
This photo is last night just before I went to bed.

I find it's an absolute win-win to feed the birds at this time of year. Obviously you're helping the birds, which is why you do it, but the pleasure you get from seeing them and knowing you're helping is a real feel-good bonus. Snowing here and the feeders have constant activity.

Next weekend is the Big Garden Bird Watch, we tend to have fewer visitors that weekend than on a normal day. We 'll see what happens this year.

I'm happy spending a fortune on bird feed, now buying in 12kg sacks.
I've a Robin that waits on the same branch for me to put the dried worms out and then drops immediately onto the bird table before the starlings get there. When clearing undergrowth and the rough area of dead weeds and nettles at the bottom of my garden it jitters around at my feet picking up insects etc.
One crafty pigeon (that can't get onto my bird table) watches in my cherry tree while a squirrel buries in my lawn a peanut from the bird table, then when the squirrel's back is turned as it goes back up the bird table for another it drops down, scratches up the nut and flies off with it.
