Hi,
I wonder if anyone has any experience with my issue - the fuel cut-off alert keeps coming on while I’m driving - with the attendant doors unlocking and hazards activating, but it doesn’t cut the engine, and, if I stop the vehicle, it can still be started normally. Often the cut-off will stop again shortly after driving for a while - but now, remains on the whole time. The reset switch isn’t activated so there’s nothing to reset there, and as I mentioned, the fuel isn’t actually cut off and the vehicle starts even while the cut-off alert is active. Although it’s great I can still drive, you can imagine the, understandable, alarm from other drivers who take efforts to alert me that my hazards are on. Naturally, because the fuel cut-off has triggered, I can’t turn the hazards off!
Has anyone had this or anything similar happen to them? I contacted the dealer and they quickly washed their hands and suggested calling a Fiat garage, Fiat garages are giving me a bit of a runaround. I’m going to try the dealer again (where would they take it If it happened to one of theirs?) but thought I’d ask here for any thoughts (or advice on a capable mechanic near Bicester/Milton Keynes!)
Thanks in advance,
Duncan
