chausson welcome
hi, its an electrolux two star, the Fiat Ducato van was built in 1999 so i assume its original. what tests can i do? it looks pretty inaccessible...does it slide out in anyway? its well tidy and functions with gas perfectly...but not on electricity, the green switch lights but it does not work. any advice most grateful.

you do realise you have to be on hook up for the fridge to run on 240v?if your on hook up plug something into a socket to prove its working. there will be a consumer unit in the van close to where the hook up lead is check this is turned on

Most likely it needs a new heating element, although there are other faults (i.e. loose connection, spuriously blown fuse/circuit breaker, mouse eaten mains cable...)

Just a thought is it on a site where the mains hook up lead has to be turned after putting in the socket to get electric.

the green switch lights
You've obviously got mains O.K. to the m/h if the switch lights up so most likely a bad connection to the heater element or it has blown and needs replacing.
Has it ever worked on 240v?

Photo's would help of not only the fridge but above ,below & to both sides to show what might have to be removed to remove the fridge

If the 240V element needs replacing, or the supply checked, it is usually possible to access the fridge through the external vents, particularly the lower vent. Most of the working parts are at the back of the fridge (coolant pipes, heater elements, gas burner, valve and ignition etc.)

Thanks all, I didn't know the element could be accessed from OUTSIDE. Will investigate....😊
