i have a Thetford N150 fridge/freezer and cannot get the interior light to work. I have tested the bulb ( ok ) and checked the fuse in the fuse box ( ok ). There is no power to the bulb holder. Is there a door switch that operates the lamp as I cannot visibly see one.
Any help would be grateful

The switch is a reed buried in the fridge body & operated by a magnet in the door (like an alarm sensor). It can be removed from above.

If it's anything like mine, there is a timer on the light as well as the proximatery switch on the door. I've opened the door more that once to find the light doesn't work. Closing and opening it again back to normal! The door had been slightly ajar, light turned off after a specified time to save battery. Can't help as to location of timer or remedy. Just a pointer.

the only time our fridge light works is when the angle is so bad the fridge probably isn't even working, but the light usually is

luckily we don't really need a light to see what's in there :)(y)

Maybe I can convince my wife to wear a miners helmet if I can't get it working

We had this problem with a Dometic fridge. My theory is that the fridge door had been closed for a long extended period sometime during the vans life (we know it wasn't used for a long time/3 years maybe) with fridge door closed) causing the reed relay in the fridge to become partly magnetised itself by the magnet in the door.
My attempted solution was to try and de-magnetise the reed relay by offering a magnet to it of opposite polarity............didn't really work at the time (n) but after 2 years the fridge light seems to have sorted itself out - so, maybe just wait?

Thank you for your comments seems like they are temperamental little buggers.

If it works when the door is open you will need to borrow a neighbours small child to sit in the fridge when the door is closed to check that it switches off. Don't forget that you have left the child in there though or your food will defrost/disappear.

when our fridge light went out the fuse resposible was not the one labelled fridge, but one of 2 lighting fuses !

Thanks Sue that's worth checking

It doesn't work at all but maybe a small child could still sit in there and just hold a torch for when we do open the door, of course they would be handsomely paid in ice creams

We had a dometic fridge where the light came on when you shut the door and went out when it was opened, never did sort it, tried the read switches etc but couldn't get it out. cured it by removing the bulb:LOL::LOL:

 I suppose it's not the end of the world not having a light in fridge
