if i was younger i would have bought this, not to work there full time but for holidays and for 'visitors' - if its as good as it sounds ie 12 hookups and toilet block, then what a great motorhome club purchase .....

Could have been tempted if there was any prospect of living there more than 90 days pa in the future.

i think the French option might be used a little more often by members driving through France though .... but hey, the idea is the same, so why not!

The idea is that MH fun members could stay at a club owned site for a few euros per night to cover local tax/rates etc

I'm in, as long as you don't suddenly need to use the funds to help a sick granny in Kenya/Nigeria or similar

Someone would have to live there. Who would own it? 12 pitches aren't very much, it would be full most of the time and there would be many pissed off share holders.
Can't see it working myself, but a nice idea.

This is quite small with only 12 pitches, but is it really a viable option, anybody been there before know the area? Might be great for brief stop overs but it has to survive financially and it clearly has already failed that. Nice dream though, any comments from Jim?

Was just going to come on and say the same as we had a family arranged holiday in that region 10 years ago although this is nearer the coast.

Having said that it is handily "a day" away from Calais.

Handy as a stop over whilst traversing the N10, but not really a destination site.

Say 10 peak weeks a year 10 pitches in use so if 1000 people chip in they could have the option of a cheap week once every 10 years and maybe not on the week they choose. And it would still need ongoing financing of the overheads!!!!
In a country with loads of free/cheap aires already!!!!!

we did similar sums a good few years ago and couldn’t see it covering costs let alone get a little to live on ? but it was a nice dream for a while for us ??

More realistic with 100 members at a grand each. If it can still be used for camping that is. Still have work and costs to with bookings, problem solving and maintenance etc tho.
Mind you I might buy it as a retirement job. Got friends half an hour away. Hmmm
