I've tried completing the online application, although I don't have a CO2 figure available to fill in on the form. I've uploaded the Logbook PDF, apparently successfully but when it comes to validating myself by the Captcha box nothing seems to happen.

Has anyone had any issues with the website https://www.certificat-air.gouv.fr/certificat/demande/ext/vehicules ? I'm almost at the point of using one of those third party websites. When I did my previous motorhome three years ago it was "un morceau de gateaux"

I applied through the site you've linked to above without any issues last year. Very efficient. Emailed confirmation within a day, and the actual sticker arrived within a week.

I'd give it another go. Some of those "captchas" can be darn tricky!

Good luck.

Applied for one the other day. No Captcha, just a box to confirm I’m not a robot.

Got email conf in in a couple of days, awaiting sticker.

I applied using this link, without Co2 but put Euro 4, on the 20th Jan. I have received receipt email (2 days later) and temporary cover but no plastic sticker for window (if that's what one gets?)

Just applied for one. Forgot we lost our previous one when the windscreen was replaced a couple of years ago. Once they are stuck on they will NOT come off other than in bits. Managed to get the German one off whole though. Thinking of sticking this one onto a stiff bit of clear plastic rather then the windscreen. Decided to get one for the scooter too. They are only E4.51 each including postage.

Thanks for the reminder, need to get ones for new to us van. Last one, knew about the problem if you had to renew windscreen, so attached them to thick plastic. Was good too as the German one had to be on the drivers side, which i don’t think is allowed in uk so easy to move.

Yes that's what I received on the 20th Jan but still no sticker and knowing the reputation of the couriers around here, I'm beginning to get worried?

Thats reminded me must get a news ones, I put mine through my laminator so as to put them in tax disc holders. Laminator decided to wrap them around the heat roller and completely screw them up. That laminator is now residing at the tip.

Got the German sticker (bought in person after footslogging halfway across Aaschen from the stellplatz on the outskirts of town) - do I need a separate one for France?

Tried again this morning but ground to a standstill when I couldn't tick the Captcha box. This was on a MacBook Pro with Big Sur OS 11.6.3. Tried again using my iPhone 8 and all worked fine with a couple of Email acknowledgements. Why it worked three years back and not now, I've no idea unless there's some indigestible bit of the latest Op system. Just have to wait for my German & French stickers to drop on the mat now.

Emissions sticker to allow you to travel in low emission zones like the Umweltplakett for Germany.

But it has differences.

The German Umweltplackett, although issued in 3 colours, there is now only one city(can't remember which) that allows entry to any vehicle that cannot obtain a 'Green' sticker, for which I think Euro IV qualifies. That system operated 24hrs 365 days. If you have not got a Green sticker you are not allowed in.

The French system is different. It only forbids entry to certain category of vehicles at certain times when the Maire of the city says the emissions have exceeded certain limits. At last info I heard no Maire has issued any prohibitions, but I may be out of date.

However to enter those cities, even when there is no ban on entry, one must still display the Crit' air sticker showing which category of emissions one's vehicle falls into, in case an emissions ban is declared. How one is to know when a ban is declared and for which category of emissions class it bans I am at a loss as to know.

UK emissions systems vary from city to city, but that is a subject for another thread!

Geoff

The only yellow area is Neu-Ulm, there are no cities that allow a red plakette, in fact I don't think they sell the red or yellow plakette at all now.

Also worth noting that the Koeln stellplatze is within a green umweltzone but they have and 'umweltfrei' approach corridor to get to the stellplatze if you don't have a green sticker, not sure if any other towns or cities have this arrangement/

Which browser are you using? If it is Safari, it can have a mind of its own and just take against a site for the sake of it. It's probably a case of teaching egg sucking but have you tried re-booting the laptop - this often cures Safari's hissy fits.

Yes, using Safari including the latest update. Tried on two consecutive days so shutting down overnight didn't clear it. One of life's petty irritations.

Oh well - I discovered my version of Safari is not accepted by Crit-Air which only recognises builds above 14.xx. Firefox, on the other hand, works a treat. My problem now is to get the image of the V5 that they want to down below the 2mb limit. Technology is a wunnerful thang . . . . .

Take a photo on your phone from a distance and crop it, or take a normal photo and use a resizing app.

I've just done mine ... took ages! It did NOT like the jpg images despite them being less than the required size combined*, in the end I converted them to a pdf (after resizing the images to be sure it would be okay) then uploaded that, once that was sorted I clicked on continue and then got the 'capcha' images for traffic lights.

*Until it was happy with the images all I got was a red message where they needed to be uploaded to, but as soon as I did them as a pdf it was okay so it could be the images which are upsetting it, until you get the red message to disappear even though it will allow you to press the 'continue' button you won't get the capcha if the uploaded docs aren't right.
