Freeview tuner , can it tune a satellite signal?

Sorry this is a really basic question.
I have an existing freeview TV, can it process a signal direct from a satellite dish or do I need a generic satellite tuner?

(I note that some Tv's say 'freeview' and some say 'freeview and satellite' tuners.

No not if it's freeview only , you would need a TV with both tuners or a separate stand alone freesat or free-to-air satellite receiver

Google the make and model of the set and check the specifications or read the manual if you have one, if not see if you can find a manual on line.

look at the back of the set and see if it have the correct connector for a sat dish. (google this for an illustration of the correct connector.)
