France opening up on the 15th december

I saw this this morning:
Riviera Radio News
French President Emmanuel Macron has in his sixth address to the nation since the beginning of the pandemic, said that following today's meeting with the defense council the current health situation is slowly improving with an average of 20,000 daily cases of Covid-19. The Head of State thanked both the French people for their efforts and the work of carers and hospital staff in the fight against Covid-19.
Macron added that the "efforts must continue for several weeks". The restrictions in place will be eased in three phases the first from Saturday 28th November with the right to circulate increasing from 1km to 20km and for a period of 3 hours rather than the current 1 hour. School activities will be allowed, church services can go ahead in limited numbers and shops and services can reopen until 9pm. The President reminds people that "the aim is still to stay at home as much as possible and to continue to favour working from home when possible".
The second phase is scheduled for the 15th December, again only if the health situation allows, a curfew from 9pm to 7am will replace the lockdown (with the exception of Christmas Eve and New Years Eve) travelling between regions will be allowed and the possibility to spend Christmas with the family. Cinemas, theatres museums will be able to reopen.
Concerning ski resorts this is still to be decided but the Head of State suggested that it may be reasonable to consider a reopening of resorts in January and again only if the health situation allows.
Finally the third phase planned for the 20th January if the health situation allows, will see sports complexes, gyms, bars, restaurants and nightclubs reopen.
The President said that while everything is being done to be able to introduce large scale vaccination by the end of December it will not be made obligatory.

Thank you. That’s more in-depth than the information I gleaned from the bbc news piece.

Mr porky the 15th December is dependant on us in France behaving and bringing the infection rate down a long way. Nothing guaranteed yet.

I suspect that there will still be strict rules although the government are doing what they can to be flexiblefor Christmas, not sure this planning will include foreigners rights for travel simply to get a bit of sunshine. Sadly, we here in France are looking at no leisure travel well into the new year. We feel your pain, we too, will be missing our winter sunshine in Spain and beyond :cry:

To be honest we only want to transit France. However if Spain doesn’t open up regional border restrictions it’s pointless anyway.
