France is expected to announce the end of pre-departure travel tests for fully vaccinated people coming from anywhere in the world within the next week.
Fully vaccinated people coming from all non-EU countries apart from those on the scarlet list (which is now empty) are currently required to present the negative result of a PCR or antigen test taken in the 48 hours before their journey to France begins.
Workers in the tourism industry say it is a block on visitors and does not make sense now that France’s Covid cases are higher than many other countries.

i looked at French CX [AND EVERYTHING ELSE on the net ] today before I booked out LFTs .
Is it Me ?

Good. They are a pain in the arse. Just completed our tests ready for our train tomorrow. What a palaver! 🤬

Hope that becomes true but have not seen it mentioned anywhere else about from that article though.

it will eventually become true no doubt ..... although i made the original post, i did add a question mark .....

the article referred to an interview on France 2, but didnt include any actual quote from what i could see from the article AND the article didnt name the reporter - which i also found strange - my money is still on or around the 20th Feb though before any restrictions are lifted, but if it happens sooner, then i wont be suggesting it be delayed :france:

France also announced it would soon drop its requirement of a negative Covid test for vaccinated travellers from outside the EU, as daily infection numbers continue to fall.
“We again required tests in December over the Omicron variant. In the coming days we will announce that tests are no longer needed for vaccinated people,” Europe minister Clément Beaune told France 2 television on Tuesday.

Is there a need to take a test before entering Spain via France?

No, you are within the EU.

As posted elsewhere

From the French government website

IMPORTANT
Any person aged 12 and over entering French territory must present a negative PCR or antigen test less than 24 or 48 hours old, depending on the country of origin.
The measures applicable to fully vaccinated adults will be extended under the same conditions to minors accompanying them, regardless of vaccination status. Minors less than 12 years of age are exempted from showing a test.
EXCEPTIONS
> Fully vaccinated Individuals arriving from a Member State of the European Union, Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino, the Holy See or Switzerland do not have to show a Covid-19 test.
Special rules apply to travellers from the United Kingdom. See below

Countries with active viral circulation in controlled proportions, neither classified in the green nor red list, are placed in the amber list by order of the Minister of Health.

The orange list of countries may change depending on how the global epidemic evolves.

Applicable rules depend on the traveller’s vaccination status.

The vaccination schedule is deemed complete 28 days after receiving one dose of Janssen vaccine, 7 days after receiving a second dose of other vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency (Pfizer/Comirnaty, Moderna, AstraZeneca/Vaxzevria/Covishield), and, for persons who have received all the required doses of a WHO-licensed vaccine not approved by the European Medicines Agency, 7 days after receiving an additional dose of an EMA-approved mRNA vaccine.

Since February 1st, 2022, in order to continue to be considered as fully vaccinated, persons aged eighteen or over wishing to enter the national territory must have received a dose of complementary messenger RNA vaccine no later than 9 months following the injection of the last required dose.

The measures applied to vaccinated adults are extended under the same conditions to their accompanying minors, whether vaccinated or not.

2.2. Health control measures

If already vaccinated, you shall provide evidence of your vaccination status, a sworn statement certifying the absence of COVID-19 symptoms and of any contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19, as well as results of a virological (PCR) or antigen screening test taken less than 48 hours prior to departure that did not detect any COVID-19 contamination, in order to enter Metropolitan France.

Since February 1st, 2022, in order to continue to be considered as fully vaccinated, persons aged eighteen or over wishing to enter the national territory must have received a dose of complementary messenger RNA vaccine no later than 9 months following the injection of the last required dose.

If unvaccinated, you must present the transport company and the border authorities with results of a virological (PCR) or antigen biological screening test taken less than 48 hours (less than 24 hours for United Kingdom) prior to departure that did not detect any COVID-19 contamination, in order to enter Metropolitan France.

The departure of the first flight is considered in case of connecting flight(s). Children under 12 years of age are exempt from testing.

Depending on your country of origin, you may be subject to screening on arrival, for which you will be requested to facilitate the administrative formalities by completing the form available at the following address: https://passager.serveureos.org external link

You must equally provide:

  • A sworn statement certifying the absence of COVID-19 symptoms and of any contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19;
  • A sworn statement that you shall take an antigen or biological screening test upon arrival in Metropolitan France;
  • For unvaccinated, a sworn statement that you shall self-isolate for a period of seven day and another sworn statement to take a virological (PCR) screening test at the end of the isolation period.

This is the current situation according to the French government (updated 3rd Feb) so probably best to plan to meet these requirements until they say otherwise.
