Afternoon,
Does anyone have any recommendations for pub stop overs in the above mentioned Forest of Dean please? We have been using Searchforsites and Britstops but the reviews are quite old and first hand knowledge is always better.
Thanks in advance.

I think this place allows overnight M/H parking (best to give them a ring and check they still are).
Good food, nice pub, great location.

Ellwood Football Club is a CCC CL. Not a pub but has a bar open in the evenings ( possibly not every night).

IIRC this pub has a large car park. Riverside.

Might be worth a call?

Know it well but not really in the Forest if Dean.

You could try " the rising sun" just outside Parkend.
I literally have just come off the phone with them. Booked in, table booked. The lady I spoke to sounded very nice. Looking forward to it.
Thanks for your suggestion.

Yes they do stopovers last time we visited and the food is decent as well. As mentioned give them a call first.
Better pub would be the White Horse in Staunton fantastic food large car park but not sure you could over night there best give them a call.👍

Sorry just noticed you’ve booked the Fountain sure you’ll be happy with that! You can always do the White Horse on the way back!😂

glenn2926, if staying in the area, have you looked at this website Glenn, maintained by a fellow Funster?

Try the White Hart Inn at Cindeford, (if it's still in business), where we stayed over a few years ago. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)
i use this resource whenever i am looking for a stop over - its great, long may it continue (with small donations, i am sure it will !!)

I have that, searchforsites, park4night, Camperstop, campercontact, Britstops and a couple of others. Just wondered if anyone had first hand knowledge of a pub.
Sorted now.
Thanks for all your replies.👍🏻
