Since 1964 Gosh that makes me feel old.
I know that there are a few plane spotters amongst our ranks such as Otter Spotter, I often use my aircraft app to browse around the planet for signs of the aircraft industry picking back up & today I saw an British Airways Airbus A380 over the Philippines. This is the first BA 380 that I've seen since the pandemic began.
I see the Emirates A380s every day & occasionally see the China Airlines versions about, so perhaps this is another sign of some form of normality in international travel which imho has to be a good thing for our motorhome travel to the worlds far flung corners.

This pandemic is far from over & it isn't time to drop our guard, but perhaps the green shoots are growing again?

BA is bringing back their A380's.
They'll be doing lots of European destinations to get the pilots up to speed asap.
First longhaul destinations will be Miami Dubai & one other I can't recall.

More planes over us today ( south Cambs) than you can shake a stick at. Most heading north (ish) to the new world.

As a recent follower of Flightradar24 ,which I find slightly addictive, its very interesting to see the comings and going’s all over the world. My geography is improving!!

Is that the best app. or are there others that are worth a look?

We noticed a lot of white plumes overhead yesterday, more than has been in the previous week's

I use this - the free version. It's

good for military planes. We are quite close to Brize Norton and Fairford and see a lot.

That could be just different weather conditions conducive to forming contrails at altitude, but not necessarily increased aircraft traffic, as aircraft do not always make contrails.

I have often been tempted to turn our aircraft round in contrail conditions to see my own contrail, but the thought of having to pay for the extra fuel if caught deterred me.

I always loved meteorology when doing my 2nd mates and Mates tickets. Courtesy of “the weather witch” (her term for herself, allegedly before we all thought of it). Fascinating subject

Ours was *Professor Fogg!*
Pat Utteridge was one of the best lecturers I have seen - never used notes at all and made it all interesting, even for the lobotomised drones working for a certain Dutch oil company
