Hi, all. We're new to Hymers and our old Ducato diesel. The other day all gears disappeared, turned out a bolt had sheared and the mechanic replaced it. Now, while you can change gears with difficulty, the lever movement is all over the place. I can't find any diagrams of the arrangement , or indeed any info on the subject. Is it possible a bushing or something is also dead? The mechanic said the bolt, cut-down from a longer one, would be a permanent fix.

I think you would need to take it to a Fiat specialist although there are people who are gearbox specialists as well who may be cheaper.
