Lots now
We are on our 3 month sojourn in Spain (lots of motorhomes).
My question is has anyone been asked to move on by the police or have they been fined for illegal camping on the costas?
We arrived mid Jan and have used Aires and campsites until last Tuesday when we discovered a wonderful spot on the beach near to Aguilas.
A local garage has a service point for €2.
Perfect.
However, I'm concerned that we may get moved on, but after contacting local aires/campsites down the coast to Nerja I get the same response "Sorry, we are full. Ring tomorrow".
So, is this the case all the way down the coast and do we just risk getting a fine by parking up wherever?

Chance of getting moved - moderate

Chance of getting fined - almost zero

I am pretty sure I know where you are and we will be heading that way in a few days time for some swimming time.

I cannot say you won't get fined but it will be unusal for that location. Friends of mine have been there for two separate visits this winter and have not been troubled.

We are currently at a very nice camperstop south of Cartagana called Los Olivos. It is busy but ebs and flows each day. We are currently surrounded by enormous motorhomes, which make ours look like a toy!

We tend to prefer authorised but have done about 15 nights in 4 stints on different seaside parking places and no hassle so far. The one place was a huge beach car park had signs up "no parking along the seafront" but the police were apparently OK if you parked on the rougher ground at the back. I've wondered if the police are taking more of a pragmatic view because its so crowded this year.

We are in nerja and probably going to extend our stay for another week as a lot of camper stops and campsites are full booked.

The Spanish Coast is getting rather busy...but where we are is a little quieter...just us and one French visitor it's 20°c..10 places up for grabs...Chemical dump and water available...all totally free. Nice village with a little history....Get to know Spain, it has more to offer than the Med...we are going home tomorrow...so that frees up another pitch..

Very nice. Philip wants to explore extremadura area so after the 21st we are heading to marbela camping for a week then maybe cadiz a call into Gibraltar then head up through extremadura before eventually a weekend in santander before our ferry. This may include Saville and maybe Ronda.

Our camping spot in nerja costing €25 a night is called Aula de la Naturaleza cortijo San Miguel
This includes water electric and WiFi that's strong enough to use a firestick to stream Netflix
