Thanks. The only reason I believe the EHU charges my battery is about 18months ago one of my grandchildren left on one of the lights that work without the internal electrics switched on. It was over the winter period and I only realised this issue when I noticed the strikeback security system LED was not pulsing.

Plugged in the EHU overnight and according to the internal control panel it was back up to 12.5 volts or higher. No battery problem until now.

I have spoken to Tanya and its an 020 size battery. I was thinking of taking the battery to Halfords to get it checked before buying but the more I think about the EHU or alternator not charging it I think its most likely the battery.

If getting a battery from Halfords apply for a trade card online I got a Yausa 5000 with 5 year warranty for £105 (£143 without card) cheaper than Tayna or Battery Mega Store.

If that discharge completely discharged the battery flat the chances are it is knackered.

If you get the battery out it will have a 3 digit code. This refers to spec, physical size and layout of terminals and capacity and CCA. Get one with the same code or equivalent.

Ok just got my Halfords trade card. They have the Yuasa 020 in stock at £125 so I will see what the trade card discount price is. Bit behind this week as looking after gran kids but plan to sort it this weekend.

I will check the code once its out at the weekend. Thanks

Is tayna.co.uk pretty accurate with the battery types? We've a '10 X250 Ducato and the starter battery has drained to 10.5v in a week and I cannot turn the engine over. I had it on jump leads to the car (while in storage) and although it was slowly going up on the Sargent hab panel, it wouldn't start after 10mins. I've bought a Noco jump starter that should arrive tomorrow but I'm wondering if the battery is trashed. Need to find out why that has drained so quickly with only the alarm and tracker running. Anyway, are the Ducato's type 017 batteries?

I guess so. We have used MH several times and returned from Baltic Wharf today. I don’t have the where with all to test the charging but I guess the proof is it started first time on each occasion.
