Flat Battery

When we get the all clear my batteries will be flat . We had to jump start it last time we went away. Never had a problem before so may have left something on to drain it.
Im sure they will be absolutely flat ,can you just jump them off your car or will this cause a problem, i have heavy duty jump leads.

Put van leads to car battery and leave it while (like 10-20 mins) with the car engine just on tick-over
Then try starting the van
If it goes, take off the leads an go for a decent 30 min drive

A totally dead battery will have a much shorter life, (if it works at all).

What you really need is a solar panel on the roof and a Battery Master device which means the solar panel will trickle charge both the engine battery AND the leisure battery.

I'd just take a new battery with me, it will keep letting you down now.
