I need help with fitting my Sky box from my home to the MH.

I thought it would be just unplugging everything and plugging everything in in the van.
BUT I find I have two cables coming from the house satilite dish and only ONE coming from the Oyster.

Any advice please.

Just plug into input 1..
The second input and feed at home allows you the record another channel while you watch another..
So as long as you dont want to record like that your fine. (y)

You can of course record while your out or while watching the actual TV channel you are on. Just not doing 2 things at once ;)

Tonka has it spot on unless you are thinking of trying it with Sky Q, then it won't work!

If you have a new Oyster there may be a second aerial in the wiring tucked away ours did and I connected sky box to that and left tv on the original it allows me to record but your Oyster must be twin lnb to have the two cables.(y)(y)(y)

Thank you all for your replies. I take it , that if I buy a secondhand Sky box I will be able to put my existing Sky card in to it or will I have to match it up with the new second hand box?.

Thanks again, when I have finished with card in the MH when I put it back into home Sky Box will I have to pair to that box again.

If you do not have a twin LNB on your Oyster your fitter can change the single for a twin. VanBitz fitted a twin on mine

If you have Sky multi-room at home, then one of the boxes can go in the van and it’s easy enough to move the box back and forth as you want. If you get a second hand box then keep moving and pairing the card, Sky are likely to be suspicious

SkyQ will not work

I think there may have been problems experienced by some that if they move the Sky card to MH Sky box and pair it as @ABZSteve indicates then pairi the Card Back to the Home Box when returning home they have had problems with Sky. This may not happen the first time but if it becomes a common occurrence they get tetchy.

Hi @colyboy

Yes you will have to pair it back to the home box again. @Chrysalis could have the answer. Get a Cheap Sky box from somewhere and then get a MultiRoom card and Pair it with that. Then you could put that box in the Van. Breaking Skys Rules but saves you from keep Pairing the same card every time you go away and return home. As others have said if you have SkyQ no chance of working this system.

All this hassle (as she says) all want is to receive Eurosport while I am abroad.

Colyboy. ,

I pay for sky multi room and pair the second card with the sky box in my van no hassle moving boxes and pairing cards.

Your sky box may be 240v but you can get older sky tv boxes that work on 12v. Dont see why they cant be paired same as newer boxes.

We had an old sky box in the van and simply put the Sky card in each trip - no pairing required for Eurosport. All channels on your standard packages should be available. Its only the premium channels (Movies and Sport) which were not available and presumably this is where the card needs to be paired. We occasionally have Movies if there is a deal going but have not used it in the van.

Just had Sky Q fitted at home which means I have a Sky+HD box spare.
If anyone can use it it's yours for a donation to our local hospice.
Collection only from Mid-Suffolk.........but not this week cos we're in Derbyshire.

Yes.. they got snotty with us once.. told them if that was how they felt please feel free to end the contract.. they declined.
I said ok, then i am giving notice of termination ... ended up with them saying carry on swapping boxes AND getting 50% off for a year

Colyboy. ,
Just take your sky box from home and use it in the van, we use ours with a small inverter when off hook up and works a treat.(y)(y)
