Hi Chris, It is a Flavel Vanessa but I am not sure that it will be practical bearing in mind The Gasmans advice. I might set it up to use the barbecue point.

The vents can be intrenal. A gap under and over will do. Check the installation instructions, if you don't have them let me know. I may be able to get a copy

Our SMEV oven has built in vents. If you can download some installation instructions for Vanessa :) they should say what is required, if anything.

Just had a look, do you mean the Flavel Vanessa cooker? That's not the same as an oven. A cooker will need a gap around it and possibly non combustible housing. The top will have to be open for the burners.

Morning Gasman,
I have checked the oven and taken some photos, maybe you could take a look when you have time. I look forward to your advice.

Do you have a model number? The oven should have a data plate, possibly inside the door on the outer edge of the oven. This will tell you which model it is and if it will work on LPG. They did NG models as well.

I found this on youtube

This shows the data plate underneath the oven at the front

Morning Gasman
I found the plate (eventually) upside down on the bottom of the oven so took a photo with a mirror, then reversed it. It says it is for use with Propane. Picture attached

It should be fine. It is old though do you know if it works? May be best to test it before you fit it

Rimor Europeo
Sorry if resurrecting old threads is uncool but i have installed the same Flavel oven complete with its galvanised surround in my Rimor. It is in the place where the fridge used to be sort of, so behind it about halfway up is the old lower fridge vent.
The oven itself has an 'exhaust' at the top rear and it puts out a bit of heat which i would rather went straight outside but the old fridge vent is too low i think and i would rather not cut yet another vent hole in the side.

Some caravans which had this oven from the factory have a grill ( the cooking device) above and i believe the venting is somehow turned back through the grill to vent to the interior of the van. I don;t have this option but maybe I could tee into the Truma heating exhaust which heads out through the roof and is in the next cupboard to the left. Is this advisable? Am I worrying unneccessarily about the heat output ?
