Hi We are hoping to hit the continent this year for first time, have got pet passport for dog so will go via the Tube he wouldnt survive a kennel went to the isle of wight he loved the top deck
want to head south any tips on route and vets and stop over for return would be a great help

Hi, try the search feature top right for vets Calais as this has been covered before.
Also it might be easier for you to start 3 separate threads asking each question, there are so many posts made that yours will move down the page and be lost otherwise.

Have you found the Aires book sold by varcarious books?

Good luck, it's so easy to Moho abroad.

Just go and enjoy once you have been over the ditch you will realise just how much hassle it is using a Motorhome in the UK.
France & Germany are Motorhome heaven.

Hi, Can't help with dog travel abroad or vets as we usually kennel our Emily (manic cocker spaniel).
hope you enjoyed the Isle of Wight , if you give us an idea of which way you are traveling south & how far you want to go also are you using aires, we might able to help.
Terry

Hi Moggyman.
Morris 1,000 Lovely little car !!
Re Vets for your return journey, park up at Le Crotoy about 1 hr away from Calais.. It is a 15 minute drive away from the village of Rue and a sensibly priced Vet and you can take your own worming tablets... Just under 30 Euros I think.. ( you now have 5 days after the Vets sig' before crossing to UK )
Enjoy your first foray into France. If you go via Rouen, once you are South of it, the countryside and villages become more "typical French" (in our opinion) and if you take the book " All the Aires of France" with you, you will have wonderful choice of picturesque and cheap places to stay / overnight and empty loo and get water etc.. Some Aires even have
free electric..
Hope all goes well and ENJOY !!!(y) Mitch.

No Morgan 1.6 proper sports, thanks very helpful but is there a directory of vets or address lists. sorry Encantdor Being a little rescue he would go mad can't even leave in car alone for shopping trips

Not sure what bit of the continent you are intending to visit but would recommend getting a the relevent Aires book from Vacarious books.

I would join acsi for their out of season discounts and huge selection of camp sites right across Europe.

If you want to meet some other Funsters have a look at the Rally section of the motorhome fun.
Twin lakes camp site rally near Bordeaux looks like it is going to be a good one.

If you are around Limousin I would recommend a visit to Parc Verger in Champagnac la Riviere. Bob and Di support the Motorhomefun and usually have a couple of Funsters staying.

Else I would say just enjoy yourself and take your time. The continent is a huge place and has lots to see and do. (y)

Personally I would not worry about the immigrants as long as you do not stay in Calais the night before you come home. I think you would have to be very unlucky to have any problems. (y)
