Welcome! I can offer some tips on the Viseo as we had one for 5 years and had great fun in it. It is a narrow van and very easy to drive and park with excellent visibility - she loved being able to be nosey in every direction. The rear lounge is warm and cosy. For winter's evenings, but we found we didn't use it as much as we thought as the dinette and superb table are equally comfortable. The bathroom is well designed and the kitchen drawers are massive, but easily overloaded and could fly open if hitting a bump when taking a fast right hand bend. We devised a pin to lock them in place.

The issues - storage is limited and mostly at the back so if you are 3.5 tonne then you may have problems with overloading the back axle. You can get a lot in the locker but it has to be packed well. Its a narrow van so if you are over 6'3" then the bed length is tight. There is a known issue with floor delamination - watch out for it! With all the weight at the back, grip at the front was pretty bad - anything more than damp grass and you'd lose grip and going up very sharp hairpins on a loose surface was interesting, but that is a common problem. The reason we changed it: climbing up and down a small ladder to a drop down bed is a bit of a pain.

Never leave a campsite with your clothes line tied to a lamp post.
Welcome and thanks for telling us a bit about your plans.
The best thing to do, in your situation, is trapes around all the motorhome sales yards, jump in and out of every van within your budget and external length and then, one day, you’ll walk into one and you’ll both say, ”This is the one!”. It’s like house-hunting. You just know when It’s the right one.
But, of course, after you’ve owned it for a few months you’ll realise there are certain things that annoy you or aren’t as important as you originally thought they would be. That’s why some people say, your third van is your Goldilocks van - just right.
Enjoy the hunt for the perfect van.

First of all a big welcome and you have made a good start because the folks on Fun are only too happy to help.
We totally agree with the comments above. Research is important but you cant research your way to the perfect van for you. You have to go with your heart a bit, its what motor homing is all about.........

:giggle:it seem your taking a big plunge, there are a million and one variables and even more who will tell their choice of van is the best.. but if your going to live it full time for 12 months it has to do most things well and some you can live without. The checklist is infinite, but on your list must be a big fridge, otherwise your going to be shopping everyday. next you have to decide if you want to make up the bed every day or not, you will need a full cooker . A separate dining area is nice but bear in mind you will eating outside a lot ( or should be) you can expect everyone to have their own idea of a perfect van, but only you will know how you your going to use it, and where. :giggle:

Thank you very much for the advice 👍🏻 We will bear all of this in mind when we get inside one. Now we just need to wait until we see one for sale 😄

Hope you find the van and have an excellent time. You already have the best security system.

Hi, although a bit bigger at 7.5 mtr we have a Burstner Iexo 736 (2019) this is our first A class. Previously had several different makes and models of C Class last ones 2003 & 2008 Bessacar 765P’s 2012 Elddis Aspire 255. All these had much more evenly balanced and easier access storage. More practical cooking and fridge capacities. Find the Burstner small oven disappointing and not very practical for long term use.as For the Dometic fridge the freezer compartment is very small compared to the Thetfords. As under the front settles are taken by the heater one side and the water tank the other, not much cupboard storage I the kitchen area, care has to be taken when loading, whilst the rear garage is quite a good size it’s you have to watch the load on the rear axle. Have found the ride to be very hard with literally things coming loose with the bouncing around, have been touring (carefully) France for the last six weeks have had cupboard doors come loose, the flap over the hab control panel fell off and yesterday the fold away part of the settee collapsed where the screws had worked there way out. Given the cost of this van bought new last year am most disappointed in it. Hopefully you will have a better outcome.
