many many years! since I was a kid
This is something I keep being asked about by dog owners and have recently found some video how-to examples to share

If it helps somebody to save their dog in an emergency, that is what matters

My medical pet travel pack contains these items,

1, Hibiscrub. Disinfectant.
2. Thornit powder. Will clear up most ear problems, ( mites, canker, soreness.)
3. Lint.
4. Bandage.
5. Antiseptic cream or powder.
6. Tick remover.
7. Cod liver oil capsules. Believe it or not this is very good for sore eyes of for flushing.(ie sand etc).

8. Scissors.
9. A shed load of TLC.
hope none of us need to use any of it but now you know I have these things when I travel, always happy to help.

I carry all the above plus conforming adhesive bandages and dressings and tea tree oil to put a few drops in water. nail clippers and wound drying powder. and a muzzle for absolute emergencies where a dog is scared and in pain to reduce the risk of accidental bites

We carry a lot of that, plus povidone iodine and cohesive bandage and saline plastic ampoules for eyewash. The muzzle is a good idea.
