Fire tv 4k Stick

I've noticed Channel5s my5 listings are not showing in the live tv listing section on my fire stick.
Has anyone else found this?
Not sure if it's just an issue on the 4k stick or all fire sticks or just me?

Hasn't it recently changed it's identity.
It just called 5 now I believe..

Yes, it's wonder if they altered the app and now there's an issue

I’ve just checked my 1st gen 4K firestick and 5 live works from the app and from live tv on home screen of firestick

I'm wondering if the latest version of the 5 app is causing the issue, if you have an old app it may be ok

There are no actual listings anymore as far as I can see, just the different '5' channels along the bottom of the screen, it's the same on my smart tv app as well.

I still have the epg and it boe has bbc on it which was added decently

Our fire stick, 4G, was bought in 2019 and still seems to work well. Wondering if the latest Firestick is better, faster or 'if not broken leave it be'?

Okay, I didn't know that existed until you posted, I just had a look at mine and all the 5 channels are there but there is a no information available message against them.

Always confused about the Firestick ie why have one ? If your TV is a smart TV I presume you don't need one ??

In theory you don't, except the fire stick seems to work better than my Panasonic smart tv and there are sometimes issues installing apps on the TV and fire stick, so neither are a problem free

You can run a vpn on a firestick for geo location spoofing, but on most smart TV's you can't. You can also rewind live tv streaming which you can't on some smart TV's.

Thanks that's very interesting, we have Nord VPN and was hoping to watch Netflix/ Sky Go on our forthcoming 3 month European trip on our new Cello C1924WS TV. However from what you've said that probably wouldn't work and we'd need to have a Firestick connected?

If you have Nord VPN installed on the device you're using to access the Internet that the TV is connected to then you should be okay, as an example, if you're using your phone as a hotspot then connecting your phone to the internet via the VPN then connecting your TV to your phone should work, best to try it in the UK first to be sure though.

I use a VPN on my Smart TV, Fire sticks, phones and tablets with great success both in the MH and apartment..
A Firestick remains the most versatile piece of kit for media, even better than my cable TV that we have at home...
I even pack a Firestick in my cycle touring kit if sporting event is scheduled whilst we are away...all hotel rooms we use have suitable TV to enable this.

There’s also an app called, (appropriately enough), ‘Downloader’ that can be sideloaded onto the Firestick that will allow many more download options than are available on the regular Firestick and SmartTV options.

We had the same issue when using data from a new iPhone which was on 5G. Changed to 4G and reloaded the app and no longer a problem. Tried again on 5G and the problem returned. Seems channel 5 doesn’t like 5G.

Doing a google search reveals that quite a few others have complained about this but there doesn't appear to be a definitive solution, there are lots of suggestions but none of them have worked for me and uninstalling and reinstalling lead to my5 no longer being a live tv source and so completely removed from the epg as opposed to just saying no information available. It doesn't bother me as I use a different epg source but you could try raising it as an issue with Amazon.

Sky+ this is no longer supported by sky so i'm not sure if you can download it from the play store, i no longer have a Sky account as I switched to Now tv but the Sky + app still works so i just check that to see what's on.

Firestick is also much better than most smart tvs....cheaper to upgrade as tech changes too.

That's why i have them. Hope they sort this issue out soon. It's definitely an issue at their end
