Hi John, basically ,yes ,you can run it in your van from a usb outlet that is reduced from 12 v
to 5 .2v.best just to plug it in the back of your tv.it fits into a hdmi slot and a separate cable to power it by usb.

Hi John, when I installed our new 4K Stick in the van, it came up with a low power from TV warning. I asked on here how to get arround that, the answer was, set it up with it plugged into the mains, as apparently it takes more power than the Avtex TV could supply via its USB ports to initially set up.
So I did this, set it up on EHU, then plugged it back into The TV USB port all OK so far.

As posted above firestick uses 5v via a USB connection.
Many work powered direct from the USB socket on a TV BUT some sets dont have a high enough rated USB so you need to use an external supply. If you have a 12v cigarette socket nearby you can use a simple adaptor like you use for your phone. Just make sure the adapter is rated at 2 amps and above. Some older and cheap ones are only 1 amp.

To add…. If your tv has a usb on the back you can plug in to it to power the firestick…😎
Not always, it depends on the tv usb power, my sony tv at home struggles and the firestick keeps powering on and off, but is is a few years old. But a reasonable phone charger should be fine.
