Water mist extinquishers are the latest dogs dangly bits.
They use de-ionised water at high pressure to produce a microscopic mist which starves the fire of oxygen.
Even safe on oil and live electrical fires up to 1000v.

Powder are ok but a hell of a mess to clean up.

As Andy said, big as you have room, and a wallet, for.
Piddling little 1ltr things are good for ashtray fires but that's about all.

You could call in to your local fire station and ask them.

My mate is manager of my local watering hole and they just had their annual fire inspection.

They picked up on two fire extinquishers..... One had been passed every year for as long as he's been manager..... 28 years.
It's a basement night club and even with lights on isn't very bright but even so they should have picked up on that one years ago.
