Interestingly after the other thread about non return valves in filler points , in the workshop today a van arrives with a failed NRV , normally they just stick open a little biit .
Connected the test filler gun and tank to the filler and it nearly blew the gun out of our fitter’s hands ⚠️
So he had to investigate, first time in 40 years the spring had completely disintegrated.

It’s scarey, I never like filling with lpg. It always makes me nervous and especially after the one at Podimore on the A303 did something that’s supposed to be impossible and the LPG shot up my arm. That’s our nearest as well so it wasn’t as though I hadn’t used it before on a regular basis!

Glad on our new van it only feeds the cooker so on current usage I reckon it will be 4 years before I need to do it :giggle:

Presumably this is just bad luck, or can we do anything to avoid or see it developing
I would say yes just bad luck , as we always say to cuss when they are adamant about a fault “it’s not something we’ve seen before but it’s mechanical so can obviously fail”
