Just a heads up if you are checking the winch on the spare wheel carrier it's worth making sure you can undo the nut that fixes the bracket to the spare wheel
It's just a fancy wing type nut but I would have been struggling to loosen it at the road side with the tools a normally carry
I can't remember if I looked at it last year with everything else that was happening

Great idea , I have no idea how mine works, first dry day I will look, any tips gratefully received

This is on my list to check today, ours had a spare retrofitted by the previous owner so I need to see if they used the original mounting method or a bodge. I’ve also got a massive plastic box with a jack and tools that doesn’t fit anywhere too so need to find a better solution to that.

Remove the jack and tools, wrap them in an old towel and store them in the gas locker.

the big box normally fits under the passenger seat in a box van, however this area is occupied by EBL and Hab batteries in MH conversions - so as Russell's Dad said, take the contents out & wrap in a towel and store in the Gas locker

Yes, just checked and I’ve got two leisure batteries under the drivers seat and electrics under the passenger so will make a solution to fit in the gas locker with other breakdown gear as advised.
