We have an intermittent fault with the locks or central locking on our Globecar, some days it works, others it will not.

Locking on the turn key, all doors lock except the passenger door, so the alarm can not be set. Other days it works normally, thus allowing the alarm to be set using the alarm fob. Attempting to lock on the Fiat fob almost always returns a door open signal, hence using the turn key is the best way to avoid the alarm sounding.

The internal locking / unlocking buttons also follow the same pattern.

Any advice/ suggestions gratefully accepted, before I have to turn to a Fiat garage and get a mortgage .

Thanking all in anticipation, (I hope its a simple solution)

Well I emailed a local auto locksmith with vehicle details, age etc, and the fault.........a day or so later he contacted me and advised, as our Globe is 3.5 years old, it may be a failed door lock module, but first of all, clean the locks with WD40, emphasizing not too much. Having followed his advice, the amount of dirt that came out was quite a surprise.

The central locking, using the ignition key works well now and is very positive, and we can now set the alarm.....and I did'nt need a mortgage!!
