Fiat Ducato 2.8 Jtd

My Motorhome needs a replacement engine oil vapour pipe which contains a heating element. Any ideas where I might find one? The Fiat mechanic says it is obsolete as my N&B Arto is 04 reg?

Apparently the heating element is shorting and blowing fuses on other engine components

Can’t you just disconnect it

The Fiat man tells me he has done this but he doesn’t know if I will get another problem. If I do the vehicle won’t start. He gave me the part number and a German website that was supposed to have it but when I tried to order it it says they will back order it. Fiat don’t make it anymore so that isn’t going to work and it is nearly two hundred euros for the part and shipping.

sounds like something we had disconnected 3 years ago when it blows the fuse it takes the speedo out no problems since

hi have had two faults which main fiat dealers and other so called auto electricians cant solve.First engine starts ok but engine light stays on followed by the heater coil light flashes on and off for about thirty seconds then goes off. Engine still runs fine but my speedo does not work either...

Yes I read the threads on the Fiat forum so given what is being said I think that I should adopt a wait and see approach as the mechanic says he has disconnected the heating element which seems to be the preferred solution. Buying a new pipe could give the same problem in a couple of years and another €200 on top of the original one. Thanks everybody

Absolutely! I felt yesterday like I had jumped in the middle of the Atlantic and didn’t know which way was land. Today everything’s in perspective especially given what’s going on in the world. Thanks for all the help and advice
