You should be able to increase from 4000kg to 4150kg without any mechanical upgrades.
Higher than that will need suspension airbags and maybe higher load rated tyres.

SV TECH or J. Ruffles will be able to quote..
If it's an Alko chassis and need air suspension then I think it's a lot more expensive to do.
The van wont be a standard Fiat MAXI chassis.. That came out later than 2004...

Not sure but I think the van will need inspecting to confirm the air bag fitment otherwise anyone could say they have bags fitted...even if they haven't....to gain extra weight.
Without the bags it's just a paper exercise to take it to the max axle weights. I.E.: 4150kg

When we uprated our last van via svtech, they took our word for the air assisters and it popped up to 4100kgs.

I m not sure I would bother in this case though you re allowed 5% anyway which is 200kgs.

First things first, what is the ACTUAL MIRO weight, not the 'supposed' MIRO weight ... you need to get it taken to a weigh bridge and check what actual payload there is ... if its had bits and bobs put on (awning etc) there could be only a little bit left and even uprating may not give you enough.

Oh and in 11 years and over 80,000 miles never been stopped to be weighed.

Funny that, when I questioned the pathetic payload of a van I was looking at the dealer poo poo'ed my comment saying don't worry, no one is ever stopped and weighed. :D Yeah.

As @Minxy Girl says you must first establish the actual weight of the vehicle, furthermore you must also establish the current loading of each axle to see whether it is possible to utilise the whole of the 4150kg without overloading one of them.
You will need to ensure that the weight distribution is such that neither axle is overloaded. For example if the van has a garage you may be tempted to put all the extra items in there. however this will put all of the extra weight onto the back axle but will lighten the front. The overall weight may be within the permitted load but the back axle could be seriously overloaded.
I understand the having an axle overloaded is a bigger sin than exceeding the max permissible weight. It may be for this reason that you may not be able to utilise the whole of the 4250 theoretical limit.
