Fiamma Security Lock Issue

I have a Fiamma external security lock on the habitation door. It has a tubular key with a notch on it. This notch fits into the hole in the lock where 2 slots line up. However, somehow, the inner slot has come out of line with the outer slot after I locked it (not sure how) and now I cant get the key in.

I read on another forum that someone filed the notch off the key to open the lock and then used their spare key.

Has anyone else experienced this issue and solved it?

Have the same lock, it’s been on 10 years and no problems, but may need to think about replacing it now then.
