Hi maybe a daft question but do you have to wind these awnings out fully?
Or can you just wind out how far you require!
Find ours fully out is to far out for us.
 
Thanks, think ours needs a little more tension and might invest more n the central rafter.
I much prefer wind out awning n windbreak than messing with drive away awning.

We often just wind out enough to provide a "porch" when it's raining and have brackets on the side of the van which the feet lock into rather than stand on the ground.

If you extend more than halfway the central rafter is an excellent idea, helps stop flapping.

there is a minimum lenght of wind out to fit a rafter, but i cant remember what it is.
if you really want to know i coulod go out to the vAN AND MEASURE IT ///

IF I where to guess. I`d say 1.5M. :rolleyes:
