Evening all,

We have an issue with our Fiamma F45 Ti awning whereby the pin on the elbow of the left hand arm (hopefully that makes sense) is coming loose. I’ve knocked it back in once but after a couple of weeks use it’s dropped again which means the whole left side of the awning drops.

assuming it’s possible to follow the above I have a few questions which I’m hoping you kind folks may be able to assist with -

1) is it possible to replace the pin in the ‘elbow’? I can see a part number for the whole arm but not the pin.

2) There is also a small tear in the fabric so if I can’t repair the pin and need to replace the whole arm I’m minded to replace the whole awning.... just wondering if this is a garage job or can it be done DIY?

3) How easy is it to replace just one arm. Again, is this a garage job or can it be done DIY?. Assume here moderate DIY skills!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Steve

you can get most parts including what you are looking for from Agent Fiamma web pages. they have a parts section with illustrations.

Thanks Phill D and MikeD,

Its the arm joint (the horizontal support) rather than the leg joint. I can see you can purchase a new arm just can’t see a replacement joint/pin??

think you may be out of luck, it looks like it comes complete. looking at the parts drawing it looks a straight forward job, probably the best way is to remove the arm complete with the rear ( on the awning body ) mounting bracket, assemble the new arm to the bracket and then refit. mark the positions of the arm on the front and rear before removing.

apologies if i am telling you what you already know.

Thanks Phill D.
I suspect that you’re correct. I’ve found a video on the Johns Cross site showing arm replacement and it looks pretty straightforward... of course it often does watching it on YouTube!! ;)

I realise that this post was a long time ago but I’ve just come across the same problem on my moho. How did you end up fixing it?

Update.
Sorted my problem. Used a small G-clamp to press the pin back into place. It was quite stiff so hopefully will hold in position.
