Hi all we are looking to take motorhome to ireland in june can anyone give any advice on the cheapest ferry, looking to travel from pembroke or fishguard to rosslare best price so far with direct ferries £304 is this a good deal? cheers.

If that is for a return trip it sounds very good value, I am looking at options to cross over this year and looked at the Stranraer option as it is shorter I presumed it might be cheaper but seems very similar

The Irish Sea is a very expensive piece of water!

Try Seatruck from Heysham if you don't mind some travelling the other side. They appear to be the cheapest

Stena line are always offering specials eg 25% off . I went Holy-head to Dublin , and back by Rosslare Fishguard , saved backtracking .

Just checked online with Stena. Cheapest is Cairnryan - Belfast @ £332, then Fishguard - Roslare @ £350. Both returns in May. Assuming your van is less than 10m. The price you found sounds very competitive. (y)

Do you have any Air miles, we went Pembroke to Rosslare a few years ago at the time it was £250, I paid £12 plus air miles.

P&O Liverpool-Dublin, out 11/6/19 return 25/6/ 19 for 7.5 m x 3.1 through CMC is £241.98 without cabin and includes 2 free meals. £279.98 with cabin.

Fishguard- Rosslare £296.80

I have booked a single crossing L'pool-Dublin in September for our 6m van at £121.12 including cabin.

Midweek, often Tuesday / Wednesday can be the cheapest options, especially the overnight sailings. Weekends will cost. You'll pay a lot more for the fast sailings between Holyhead and Dublin. And beware, if you do need to change a ticket, that can get very expensive if you haven't prepaid for flexibility.

If you have a shed load of Tesco Clubcard vouchers, if you double them up that can get you a good saving off the full fare, but whether that is a real saving against any other discounts ....

Don't know why it costs so much when the Irish Ferries route I've been out and back on a few times in September over the years always seems quite empty, or perhaps it's because it's empty?

I know a good curry house in Pembroke Dock - if that’s any help(y)

Here it is http://sevenspice.uk/pembroke-dock/

Warning - the vindaloo is the hottest I have ever tasted and I have tasted lots.

@Chris Until you walk out of the toilet checking you had zipped up, and knock a waiter over carrying loads of food  you have not had a HOT curry.
But we knew it would be ;) because they put the biggest jug of water on the table before we ordered.

We used Irish Ferries when we went from Pembroke and the ICC had given out a code at the NEC show, we had a month and free camped the wild atlantic way the whole time and came back Dublin, it was £200 and no cost for the dog, (y) loved it, must do it again. :D Bob.

First time I went in there , there was all this green stuff on top of my curry.

I thought it was parsley or something so thought I would get rid of that nonsense first.

Not a good idea:)

We've done that and it is slow but fun.

Meals and non-alcoholic drinks included in the quoted fare as is a cabin - bunks or single room ask as you check in, they are ensuite, you have to ask for a towel or remember your own, no toiletries so take a wash bag.

No pets or small children and you have to be able to climb a steep set of stairs from the vehicle deck to the drivers' area.

TV and DVD player in the lounge or take a book, pack or cards or game. Talking to the truck drivers is also interesting.
