Great we will be researching routes over the next few days /weeks , I have just had a quick look on a couple of sites and up to now you are quite right no dates available as yet.Next years crossings don't usually get released until around Nov/Dec the end of this year.
If you go Ancona or Venice a good route from Calais or Tunnel is Lille Tournai Mons Namur Arlon Lux Metz Nancy across the Vosges on N57 to Mulhouse, then into CH at Basel Into I at Como Milan, then straight on for Ancona or turn left for Venice.

Looking forward to the chaos wouldn’t be the same anywhere without a little bitAs mentioned earlier, Viamare are very good, used them for the first time over 30 years ago. It's not a cheap crossing, never has been. Camping on board places get booked up pretty quickly. Expect chaos when embarking/disembarking, its all part of the service!
That’s something else to look into I think we will take a bit of time to get this booked after looking at all the options. just had a major problem with direct ferries and a bookingWe did Ancona-Patras 2 years ago with no chaos. There is cafe in the CP while waiting to board. We will be there again on coming Mon.
Boarding at Patras for Venice on return was less organised.. This year we return Patras-An

I haI had an absolute nightmare with them with a pre to post Covid booking and swore I’d never go through an agent again. My Adriatic crossing booking direct with Anek lines was easy and when I did have to make a minor amendment while out there I just went into the office at the port to make it.
d to go down the court route to get the problem sorted with direct ferries absolute shysters!!I had an absolute nightmare with them with a pre to post Covid booking and swore I’d never go through an agent again. Just for a bit of balance, I don't know about other agents but we have used Viamare for our Greece trips with the Motorhome for many years and have never had a problem and can thoroughly recommend them.

Why take the ferry? The roads along the Croatian cost are fantastic. Great views all the way & roads in great condition. Much better than our roads.Hi all we are looking To book a trip starting august 24 going down to Greece can anyone suggest routes / ferries we are keen on the camping on board idea. any suggestions would be appreciated.
Direct Ferries is a bit like Compare The Market. It's not a proper agent, just a price comparison website really. Agents like Viamare have been around for a long time, they are 'old school' first time I used them was about 35 years ago, as I was waiting for the internet to be invented! I'm (pleasantly) surprised they are still around, as it is a very niche service they provide. I don't find the ANEK, Minoan etc, websites that good, they were rubbish 20 years ago and only marginally better now! SNAV was good for Ancona-Spilt this year though. I quite like the idea that you can email or phone Viamare, give them a rough idea of what you want to do, leave it with them and they come back with a number of possibilities. It's a bit old fashioned, but there you go. 95% of my travels are booked online, I'm no technophope, but its great to see that there is a place for the more traditional approach. Thanks Pete, really my gripe is with direct ferries so I would just be careful if and when using agents but it helps when you can see recommendations from other users cheers.
